Interpreting at Partners

Partners Interpreting Invests in Our Community

We understand that as a professional interpreter, where you choose to work is a reflection of your values. In an industry with large, faceless organizations, we offer a meaningful alternative. We believe the interpreting ecosystem thrives when it is led by those with lived experience.

Partners Interpreting was founded and is still operated by two nationally certified interpreters who were both born and raised in the Deaf community. Our team is comprised of both Deaf and hearing staff, and our “family style approach” is a core part of who we are. We are in this for the right reasons: to provide exceptional communication access and to support the community we are proud to be a part of.

This commitment is why we invest back into the profession through our Internship & Apprenticeship Program. When you work with Partners, you are not just taking on an assignment; you are actively supporting a system that nurtures new talent, respects the profession, and is authentically connected to the Deaf community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the right agency to partner with is a significant decision, and we believe in providing clear, transparent answers. We’ve compiled some of the most common questions we receive from interpreters about our policies, payment process, and professional opportunities. If your question isn’t answered below, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

We encourage both Deaf and hearing interpreters who are pre-certified, state-screened or nationally certified to apply.

After you apply, a team member will contact you to arrange an interview and screening. The process includes a discussion about your training and experience, an overview of our policies, and a language assessment with sample work. Following this, you will be asked to complete employee documents to finalize the hiring process.

We coordinate all types of interpreting requests for both on-site and video work. This includes medical and mental health, corporate, K-12 and university settings, and state and federal government appointments.

We negotiate competitive hourly rates on an individual basis. We evaluate your qualifications, language skills, education, and experience during the negotiation. Additionally, all on-site interpreters are paid for their full round-trip travel time.

No. Although you are hired as an employee, you are not required to be exclusive to Partners. You are free to work with other agencies and for direct clients.

As a W2 employee of Partners Interpreting, you can count on reliable, biweekly pay via direct deposit.

All our interpreters agree to the industry-standard practice of not attempting to book directly with a client you were introduced to through Partners Interpreting. This professional courtesy recognizes the resources we invest in building and maintaining our client relationships.

Yes. We are committed to the growth of our colleagues and offer professional development opportunities. We also provide a structured Internship & Apprenticeship Program for aspiring interpreters.

Our coordinating team provides real-time, 24/7 support. We work to provide you with a clear, pre-planned schedule and are here to help manage any changes that may occur.

We use a variety of secure, high-quality platforms for Video Remote Interpreting. We ensure our interpreters are comfortable and proficient with the technology required for their assignments.
