Partners Interpreting provides trainings for administrators and staff. Our trainings are interactive and provide attendees a safe, comfortable environment to learn, ask and share. Deaf Employees:
If you have a Deaf or Hard of Hearing employee, we can help you establish best practices for your daily interactions, and advise on available resources and technology for integrating the employee into your organization. The Deaf community is unique and very diverse. As in other cultures, there are nuances that impact communication and behaviors that differ from the mainstream culture. Our training builds awareness and understanding of these differences, increasing equity for all stakeholders.
Interpreting Services:
Many people may have met a Deaf person before but are not familiar with interpreting protocols or best practices. Our trainings are designed to help participants feel comfortable working with interpreters, know what to expect in the process and address factors that impact interpreted interactions.
Training Topics:
- Deaf Community and Culture
- American Sign Language — the language and the basics
- Professional Sign language interpreters — the industry and interpreter role
- Communication Options and the Do’s and Don’ts
