Legal

Sign language interpreting for legal content requires specialized training and expertise, especially since various legal interpreting scenarios can arise. Often, an interpreter with legal certification IS REQUIRED by law (Language and the Law, Compliance Requirements, etc.). A nationally certified interpreter with 5-10+ years minimum experience in other situations is the best practice. There may also be a need for a Deaf Interpreter Specialist in some scenarios.

State laws will determine which services you need based on the type of environment, content, participants’ role, etc. Interpreters certified for the legal sector are in high demand but are very limited. We prioritize requests for this sector and evaluate interpreters based on their level of experience and expertise. Work with our experienced coordinating team to help identify which service is best and identify what kind of sign language interpreter is required. We can help you complaint and fully accessible, contact Partners Interpreting to get a consultation.
